Richie Banks, is an American rapper born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas on the South Side of town. In the past couple of years Richie has been heating up on the underground hip hop scene around the Arklatex/Arklamiss and Chicago area. On Thanksgiving 2018 while Preparing to do an appearance at a club event at Club Tois in Little Rock, Richie was hit by a stray bullet while gathering with his entourage a few miles away at a friend’s mechanic shop. Instead of letting that incident discourage him, Richie has instead used it as fuel for motivation to go harder in his rap career. Richie cites his father, Arkansas rap pioneer Filthy Rich who had regional success with the single Mrs. Jones as part of the group Lil Rok Playaz in the early 2000’s, as one of his biggest inspirations to be a rap artist.
After Releasing a previous offering entitled Straight Talk, Richie went on a 12 City Meet the DJ tour and has since then released another mixtape called Straight Talk Reloaded hosted by DJ Reese and DJ Shotime both from Chicago. Richie has also performed at the Coalition DJs 12 year anniversary show in Atlanta. Richie’s latest project an EP entitled Traptivist , is a joint project with media mogul Gutta TV. Richie’s lastest single off the project is “Street Sh!t” Produced By Texa$MadeIt and has a video directed by Azae Productions. Richie has been Recently featured on several blog sites and industry tastemakers pages such as Say Cheese TV, Azae Productions, Dirty Glove Basturd, Hip Hop Overload, Gutta TV, and The Grynd Report Magazine just to name a few. If Traptivist is any indication of what is to be expected from Richie Banks than he indeed will soon be a force to be reckoned with on the national level.
